The President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut a sod for the construction of the Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal ( BILT), also known as the Boankra Inland Port Project in the Ashante Region, last Thursday, November 5, 2020.
He indicated that the project when completed, would provide services to importers and exporters in the middle and northern parts of the country as well as provide an avenue for the transportation of goods to landlocked countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
Minister of Transport Hon Kweku Ofori Asiamah disclosed that the project is fully funded by the Republic of South Korea due to the cordial relationship between Government of Ghana and South Korea.
The 413 acre dry port project was initiated by the Ghana Shippers Authority(GSA) and Ghana Ports & Harbour Authority (GPHA).
Present were the Ag. Chief Director of the Ministry of Transport, Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, Director F/A Mr. Emmanuel Num, Director RSIM Mr. Eric Tetteh, Deputy Director Mr. Dela Kemevor and some officers of the Ministry.
