DEPUTY MINISTER-TOURS GRDA, NRSA, AND DVLA

The Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has embarked on familiarisation visits to key agencies under the Ministry of Transport, including the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA), the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

Her visits are part of her efforts to gain a deeper understanding of the agencies' operations and challenges and to prepare for her role in shaping the country's transport sector.

During her visit, Hon. Affo-Toffey received detailed briefings from all three agencies. The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) updated her on the progress of various railway projects aimed at modernising Ghana's rail network, a core responsibility of the authority.

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) outlined its mandate and the initiatives it's undertaking to reduce road traffic crashes and fatalities, highlighting its role as the lead government agency for road safety through education, enforcement, and public awareness.

Finally, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) briefed her on its efforts to streamline driver and vehicle licensing processes by leveraging technology and improving customer service, as part of its responsibility to ensure road safety.

Hon. Affo-Toffey on her part reiterated her commitment to collaborating with these agencies to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.

Her visits underscore the government's renewed focus on transforming the transport sector to support national development and ensure the safety of all Ghanaians.
