12th Mar 2025 | PR UNIT

Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe yesterday held separate meetings with representatives of Uber Ghana and later the National Union of Tricycle Operators at the Ministry to discuss potential partnerships in the sector ahead of the regularisation of motorcycles for passenger transport.

During Uber Ghana's visit, discussions focused on establishing a collaborative relationship to ensure the smooth integration of motorcycles into the formal transport system. The talks covered key aspects such as safety measures, regulatory frameworks, and the economic impact of motorcycle transport services.

Later, the National Union of Tricycle Operators engaged the Hon. Nikpe to discuss similar issues. Both meetings highlighted the sector’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and sustainability, with a shared goal of contributing to the government's broader transport policy.

The Hon. Minister expressed support for initiatives that promote safe and efficient passenger transport, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring that the coming regulations align with both safety standards and economic opportunities for stakeholders in the sector
