The newly appointed Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, officially assumed office today following his swearing-in by the President of the Republic last Friday.
In his maiden meeting with the Directors and staff of the Ministry, Hon. Nikpe outlined his vision for the Ministry, with one of his key priorities being the realization of the "Building the Ghana We Want" agenda. He emphasized that "the gateway to Africa begins with transport and that there is a need to reset the agenda through a regulated, well-monitored, and well-supervised framework".
Hon. Nikpe later paid a familiarization visit to both the Head Office and Regional Office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), an agency under the Ministry. He assured management of his commitment to actualizing a 24-hour economy, beginning with the regularization of "Okada" transport.
