INAUGURATION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE POLICY WORKING GROUP

A 15-member Policy Working Group (PWG) has been inaugurated to oversee the implementation of the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP).

The Chief Director of the Ministry, Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, in her inaugural remarks emphasized the importance of the group’s collective efforts. She stated, "Your work will bridge the gap between policy and practice, turning the aspirations of the National Electric Vehicle Policy into tangible outcomes that will benefit all Ghanaians."

The working group has been tasked with several key responsibilities, including collaborating with relevant stakeholders such as government agencies, private sector entities, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to drive EV initiatives forward. They are also responsible for monitoring international best practices and technological advancements in electric vehicles, adapting them to the Ghanaian context, and raising awareness to build capacity among policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the public on the benefits of EVs.

The group consists of esteemed representatives from various institutions such the Ministries, agencies and the academia.
