The Minister for Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has said, this year has ground breaking projects that the Ministry would be executing, therefore, staff needed to sit up and go the extra mile with assignments they are given, to make the Ministry achieve its targets.
He noted, staff needed to improve on their team work attitude and be ready to work with each other devoid of personal issues. Hon. Ofori Asiamah reiterated that in the office space one did not need to be a friend before you work with him or her, but encouraged all staff to work together in harmony and friendliness to push the Ministry forward.
Speaking at this year’s Management Retreat in Koforidua, he encouraged staff, that, considering the level of work to be done within the year, staff needed to braze themselves up to stay in the office and work after closing hours to help achieve the targets for the year.
He mentioned that major projects to be executed this year included, the Keta Port, Elmina Fishing Port, Volta Lake Improvement, revamping of the Metro Mass Transit Limited and the completion of the feasibility study on the Airport to be built in the Central or Western Region.
All ongoing projects on the fishing ports, landing sites and the upgrading of the Airports, etc were all going to be continued as well. In addition, he said there was going to be a Project Monitoring Team to be set up to monitor the progress of all projects within the sector.
Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah was appreciative of all the support staff had rendered over the year and called for more collaborations and working in unison.
