Kumasi International Airport to be Commissioned on 10th May, 2024

The Minister for Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has Inaugurated a Nine-Member Committee to see to the successful commissioning of the Kumasi International Airport on 10th May, 2024.

The Committee chaired by a Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Hassan S. Tampuli, is to see to the planning of the commissioning and ensure that every activity on the day was orderly and no security hitches were recorded.

The Minister urged them to put in place a work plan that will make the day of commissioning a successful one. He tasked them to pay attention to every detail and ensure that every little work that needed to be finalized, was done in readiness for the commissioning.

Hon. Hassan Tampuli, in thanking the Minister for setting up the committee, assured the Minister they would work to ensure that, the commissioning of the Airport was done successfully.

He said they would take inspiration from the commissioning of the Tamale International Airport and make sure that some little mistakes made during the commissioning of the Tamale International Airport were not repeated.

He noted that they will involve all major stakeholders in the planning to make it a solid one and the commissioning that day befitting the commissioning of an International Airport.

Phase II of the Kumasi International Airport has been completed and will be commissioned for international operations to start.
