MOT CELEBRATES CIVIL SERVICE WEEK, 2021

The Ministry of Transport has celebrated its 2021 Civil Service Week under the theme, “Economic Transformation Amid Covid-19 Pandemic: The Responsibilities of an Adaptive Civil Service”. The event was scheduled from Thursday, 5th to Friday, 13th August, 2021.

The Ministry, participated in all activities lined up for the Week by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCS). On the first day, Thursday 5th August, 2021, some staff of the Ministry joined virtually in the Press Launch. The Chief Director and the Public Relations team on the 6th of August, 2021 were at the Civil and Local Government Services Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) Auditorium to join in the Thanksgiving Service that was held.

The third day of the celebration, 11th August, 2021 was an Open Day for Ministries. The purpose of the Open Day was to enable all Ministries exhibit pictures of projects undertaken by their sector agencies. The Ministry’s Open Day was a success. The exhibition stand of the Ministry of Transport was graced by the Hon.  Minister and his two Deputies. They inspected the projects that had been displaced by the various agencies under the Ministry. The Minister was impressed by the hard work of the committee and commended them for their effort.

The Chief Director for the OHCS, Eng. Brocke, accompanied by a team from the OHCS also visited the exhibition stand of the Ministry.

As part of the week celebration, a cleanup exercise was organized on the 12th August, 2021. Staff of the Ministry of Transport were divided into two (2) groups for the exercise. One group was at the Ministry’s premises for the cleanup, while the other group and staff of OHSC cleaned up the Tema Station enclave.

The week celebration was crowned on Friday 13th August. For the first time, the Ministry organized indoor games for staff to relax and wind down the week. Staff participated in games such as chess, scrabbles, ludo, oware, dame, cards, among others.

That same evening was the Civil Service Awards Nights where some staff of the Ministry won awards for their dedicated service and hard work.

Staff expressed excitement for the success of the Civil Service Week Celebration, especially the introduction of the games by the Ministry.
