The Minster for Transport, Hon. Kweku Ofori Asiamah has hinted that the government will soon provide a new Act to strengthen the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) in its effort to address existing and emerging road safety challenges in the Country.
The event under the theme"Safety First, Think Safety and Drive Safely" was held on Tuesday in Kpong, in the Eastern Region.
The event was attended by road users, students a host of dignitaries including the Minister of Transport, Hon. Kweku Ofori Asiamah.
The Trasport Minister disclosee that road accidents and it's attendant effect is a threat to socio-economic development of the Country.
He added that the Ministry has charged the National Road Safety Commission(NRSC) to intensify public sensituation on road safety across the country at all times esespecially before, during and after festive seasons.
Hon Ofori Asiamah mentioned that the Commission would be working with some familiar local celebrities including Agya Koo and Great Ampong.
He appealed to all to support the NRSC in all its activities and called on all to show commitment to road saftey issues in the Country.
