The Minister of Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has donated 10,000 pieces of nose masks to the leadership of the Transporters Unions in the country, on Tuesday, 26th May 2020.

This gesture forms part of the support provided by the ministry towards the enforcement of the COVID 19 protocols at the various lorry stations and transport yards.

The Minister indicated that there is the need for transporters to be supported especially during this period to curtail the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.

He added that the Ministry would continually provide the necessary assistance in that regard and that all managers of lorry stations and transport yards are required to continue the enforcement of the protocols.

Hon. Ofori Asiamah entreated the Transporters to continue to record the biodata of all passengers who use their facilities since they might be needed for other purposes in the future.

Receiving the items from the Minister on behalf of the group, the National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, Mr. Kwame Kumah, expressed the group's appreciation to the Minister and promised to ensure the items are used for their intended purpose.
